The short version

What stays on your iPhone

You can delete all of it at any time in Settings > Delete all data, or by deleting the app.

What is sent to our server

Our server is a small program that only does two jobs.

  1. Checking a purchase. When you buy or restore Nightproof Lifetime, the app sends the purchase record that Apple signed (product, transaction number, purchase date, the random install identifier) so the server can confirm it came from Apple. We do not receive your name, email address, Apple Account or payment details; Apple handles payment.
  2. Counting app use. The app sends anonymous counts such as "onboarding completed", "Start tonight tapped", "paywall shown", "purchase completed", with the random install identifier, the app version and the day (no time of day). These counts never contain your night log, mix names, device names, location or anything you type. They help us see whether the app works for people.

The server also keeps standard technical logs (IP address, time of the request) for up to 14 days to protect against abuse; they are not used for anything else.

Legal basis (EU, UK and similar laws)

Checking a purchase is necessary to give you what you bought (contract). Anonymous usage counts rely on our legitimate interest in keeping the app working, with no tracking and no profiling.

Sharing

We do not sell or share personal data. Apple processes your purchase under Apple's own privacy policy. Our server is run by a hosting provider on our behalf: Hostinger.

How long we keep data

Children

Nightproof is rated 4+ and does not collect data from children beyond the anonymous counts described above.

Your rights

You can ask for access, correction or deletion of data linked to your install identifier by writing to the privacy contact above. Because we do not know who you are, we may ask you for the install identifier shown in the app. You can also complain to your data protection authority.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be in the app and on our website with a new effective date.
